| M2 | Previous ‘heroic’ leader of the department, who subsequently moved to a neighbouring hospital. Participation within the model was often attempted through video-link between hospitals. |
| M3 | Newest member of the group. His arrival to the group has been deemed to be a calming influence on the group. Had previous leadership experience within other National Health Service Trusts. |
| M4 | One of the quieter members of the group. Although he became more vocal throughout the course of the study, he primarily exhibited laissez-faire (masculine) leadership. |
| M5 | Male leader, with democratic leadership attributes. Would often deputise as chair person. |
| F1 | Chair-person of the Monday meeting and coresearcher. |
| F2 | The youngest member of the consultant group with the least leadership experience. |
